This project developed a cohesive identity system for the de Young Museum’s Art of Manga, unifying print, environmental, and mobile platforms. The challenge was to elevate manga as fine art while organizing diverse content with clarity, narrative flow, and respect for the artwork’s expressive ink-based qualities.

My approach focused on a disciplined typographic system built through modular grids and bilingual hierarchy. Using a restrained monochrome palette inspired by manga’s ink-on-paper origins,
I emphasized clarity, pacing, and contrast to create a scalable identity
that adapts across print, environmental, and digital platforms.
